HJS president Marijan Hanžeković arrived in Hvar and today met with representatives of JK Zvir — president Tonko Buzolić, vice-president Boris Nižetić and secretary Nikša Ive Čane — as well as with JK Zvir member and mayor of Hvar Pjerino Bebić.
The meeting was held in an informal atmosphere Caffe bara Sidro, and it passed in an exceptionally friendly spirit. It was agreed that the Competition Council will meet within a month and that the Optimist class will re-examine the recent decisions of the Executive Committee. President Hanžeković promised to respect the will of the experts, while the JK Zvir representatives insisted that decisions about sailing in the Optimist class cannot be made by people who have never sailed and who know nothing about the class.
President Hanžeković promised JK Zvir a 1.6-coefficient regatta on any date outside the winter period, but we unconditionally insist on preserving the tradition that has now lasted 35 years. We also insist on preserving the other 1.6 regattas, especially JK Orsan's "Dubrovnik Regatta".
After the meeting, a joint lunch was held at restoranu Gariful.
