We have already written about how the Executive Committee of the HJS, headed by Marijan Hanžeković, made a decision on sailing in the Optimist class that is opposed by all the relevant expert bodies of the HJS.
Although under the HJS statute the Competition Council should be responsible for competition, its opinion was completely ignored, so the entire council, headed by president Vladimir Barbić, resigned.
The Executive Committee formed a special committee in which, alongside HJS vice-president Dean Pavlak, they appointed VZN president Vladimir Barbić, class secretary Nevio Prtenjača, coaches' representative Damir Nakrst and sporting director Marko Mišura. Unfortunately, the majority proposal of the VZN, the Optimist class secretary and the coaches' representative was rejected in favour of the opposing proposal by Mr Pavlek and Mr Mišura, which the other committee members criticized extensively.
