The HJS has published on its website many inaccurate and incomplete pieces of information about the decision the HJS Executive Committee made on sailing in the Optimist class. They refused to publish the official statement of the HJS Competition Council and the Optimist class secretary on the official site, because that statement refutes all their untruths.
The VZN proposal (which the Executive Committee rejected) for the new competition system was fully accepted both by the Optimist class secretary and by the Optimist class coaches' representative.
Numerous criticisms were raised against the opposing proposal by Executive Committee member Mr Pavlek and sporting director Mr Mišura, and it was concluded that it does not contribute to the development of sailing in the Optimist class.
From the statement we single out the following paragraph, which concerns our New Year's Regatta:
"Our two best-attended regattas (St. Nicholas and the New Year's), by number of participants and number of nations, are held in December, and such a decision will destroy those two regattas, as well as the organizers' efforts over the past 20 or so years to earn these regattas the status they enjoy today in the sailing world."
The full statement by Mr Barbić and Mr Prtenjača, which the HJS is trying to cover up:
